Bigshell designs and builds apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android. We work slowly enough to notice the product decisions that make software feel humane.
Manifesto
The best software is quiet. It does what you asked, protects what is yours, and gets out of the way. It does not ask you to log in to a thing that does not need an account. It does not turn every screen into a sales pitch. It lasts.
We make apps we would put on our own phones, iPads, and Macs. If it does not meet that bar, it does not ship.
How we work
Few projects. Long horizons.
We avoid large queues and vague retainers. A good engagement has a clear product problem, a small number of responsible people, and enough trust to remove what does not belong.
Design
Shape native flows that feel at home on the platform and on the device.
Build
Use the platform well, keep dependencies low, and make the privacy model legible.
Tend
Maintain what ships so the product can age without becoming hostile.
