On device
Personal content stays on your device whenever the product can reasonably support it.
Privacy - the short version
We build software that respects you. That is not just copy. It is the architecture, product policy, and business model.
Personal content stays on your device whenever the product can reasonably support it.
No advertising IDs, no fingerprinting, and no analytics that follow you across the web.
Most apps should work without an account. If one is needed, we ask for the minimum.
01
Our apps are designed around local data. Personal content such as stories, notes, preferences, and history should live on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or private platform sync account unless a product clearly says otherwise.
When you email hello@bigshell.io, we keep your message long enough to reply and maintain a useful support history.
02
When an app generates, summarizes, or transforms personal material, our preference is on-device processing. If a Bigshell app needs a server for a specific feature, the product should explain why and collect only what is needed for that feature to work.
03
Our apps may use platform services such as the App Store, TestFlight, CloudKit, or Play Store distribution. Those services are governed by their providers' privacy policies. This website is served from a CDN to deliver static pages quickly.
04
None by default. No ad SDKs, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics, and no profiling scripts on this site. We learn what to build by reading email, testing with people, and using the software ourselves.
05
Some Bigshell apps are for families. They should not require a child account, collect data about children for advertising, or include purchases that pressure a child. Parents remain in control.
06
If data is on your device, deleting the app deletes the local data with it unless you have separately backed it up or synced it through your platform account. You can email hello@bigshell.io with questions or requests.
07
If this policy changes, we will date the change and explain it plainly. Current version: May 2026.
